Thousands of children poisoned by milk in China

Over 50,000 children in China affected and nearly 13,000 of them were hospitalized after they consumed milk contaminated with melamine. The figures reported the Chinese Ministry of Health. Hospitalized with various complaints - from poisoning to acute renal failure, about one hundred are in very serious condition with life threatening. Four babies died in the middle of September after being fed powdered milk containing melamine - a toxic substance used in the manufacture of adhesives and plastics. The case began an investigation in the course of which have already arrested 18 people.
