Shares against the G8 in Italy
8, 9, and July 10, 2009 President-master of Italian democracy shelters meeting the "big 8 on the planet." This time, preventive measures against the safe protests were taken much more seriously. Berlusconi could not afford a new Genoa. The meeting was held in the stronghold of state police forces, Hoof, a town situated very close to L'Aquila, a city that was most severely damaged by the earthquake on 6 April this year. Perhaps Berlusconi - a symbol of the full merger of the billions and politics - is meant to give an example of its disaster poorer savozhdove - "like this to act against people - quickly, efficiently and without sentiment."
Protests begin with duty arrests Monday, July 6, two days before the event 21 people from Turin, Padua, Bologna and Aquila are closed - sparked a wave of university occupations across Italy - Rome, Naples, Turin, Pisa, Palermo , Bologna and Parma students occupying the rector's offices.
On July 7 in the morning a group of Rome puts a huge barrier of the motorway A24, stretched banners and placards raised.
Meanwhile, 500 people from the "Strategy The" occupation leave the university to block the main street in central Rome. Scattered parts are riot and border police. Seven people were arrested during this blockade, including four foreigners. At 12:00 in December held a demonstration for the release of those arrested. Arrested 35 people including nine foreigners - four from Sweden, two from the Czech Republic and one from Poland, France and Switzerland. Rome and L'Aquila became besieged cities.
At Wednesday, July 8, 300 demonstrators gathered in front of one of Roman prisons where they were detained ten activists participated in demonstrations against the G8 previous day. The demonstration of solidarity is attacked by the police pursued protesters throughout the city. Another 36 people were arrested.
On Thursday, July 9, organized a demonstration in front of a crowded detention center for illegal immigrants, situated near Rome. It involved about 600-700 activists. When activists began to lose the battle with police guarding the camp, the immigrants themselves in trying to communicate with them and begin to burn various items of equipment in this "center". The delegation of journalists and lawyers was not allowed to enter. Recent Italian law allows the detention of immigrants more than 6 months before their expulsion. The conditions in this prison are particularly serious - when detainees require any medicine, just beating their sedative injection. On July 10 demonstration in L'Aquila has about 5,000 people, but the Federation of Italian anarchists did not participate in it. In other Italian cities demonstrations are growing, many universities are occupied and out shares "ventilation" of banks.
Unlike the G8 in Genoa in 2001, repression by the government are much heavier, with particular emphasis on prevention. Police telephoned the many activists in several Italian cities and threatening them before the start of the G8. Already on July 6, 21 of the most active students were arrested on preliminary charges of past clashes in Turin on "University G8 meeting" in May. •
